Our Mission
We believe every child deserves a learning journey that builds their confidence, a strong identity, a resilient mind, a sense of community, a positive wellbeing and be able to communicate using language that supports their needs. The first five years of a child's life is where immense learning and development is gained through play and educational guidance.
Sustainability
We believe that sustainability is embedded into our everyday practice. We do this by developing and implementing an ongoing culture of sustainability by encouraging children to be part of this learning giving them responsibility and understanding of how they can be caretakers of the land. The role of sustainability is led by the educators who role model preferred practice thus encouraging the children to understand and follow.
Learning
Learning can happen anywhere, anytime we utilize play-based learning and intentional teaching to maximize children's learning opportunities. Children learn best when they feel valued and respected, are listened, and responded to, this is incorporated in every aspect of the
learning environment as we provide lots of hands-on experiences that promote life skills to build.
confidence and resilience.
Family
Our families are the most important influence on the children we care for and are viewed as the primary information source. This knowledge is used to provide a family like environment and to scaffold the children's learning through planned and spontaneous experiences.
Using predictable routines promotes an environment that fosters the children's learning and development.
Communication
We use positive and welcoming language to speak to children, co-workers and families promoting a positive approach to behavior management and being respectful to everyone's home language which is included in our day-to-day learning environment.
Learning Environment
We provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment, we do this by ensuring that resources and experiences are open ended and age appropriate. Culture and Community
We strongly value and respect children's cultural and religious backgrounds and believe all children should be treated with equity, regardless of gender, culture, religion, and abilities. We acknowledge our traditional owners of the land, the Wurundjeri people, we respect fully recognise the elders of past and present. We enable and encourage our families and the community to build a strong sense of belonging to our centre and through a variety of methods promoting strong partnerships.
Holistic learning occurs as children and adults work in partnership, respecting each other's values and beliefs as part of a strong and supportive community.
Our Educators
Our centre practice and principles are guided by the National Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian early Years Framework. We understand that every child has their own learning style, strengths, and interests, through the EYLF we encourage children to explore, imagine and interact socially through play-based learning.
We work collaboratively to ensure best practice and maintain a strong and positive team environment. By being passionate and enthusiastic educators, we continue to extend on our knowledge and skills, while valuing and learning from each other's strengths and knowledge
